The Challenge: Creativity in a Busy Schedule
The goal was to find a team-building activity that could fit into a busy workday, allowing people to come and go between meetings. The experience needed to be easy and fun, while leaving plenty of room for personal expression and offering something tangible to take home.
Our Approach: Everything Prepared, Everything Included
The Art Garden Studio brought a complete terrarium-making experience directly to Affirm's office in the San Francisco Bay Area. We provided all materials and completed the full setup an hour before the event.
Each participant received an individual set with a glass vessel, tools, and terrarium-making materials. Alongside the main working area, we set up two additional stations with a variety of plants and decorations to choose from.
We offered step-by-step guidance and printed instructions for those who preferred to create at their own pace. This made the workshop flexible, from the full 90-minute experience to a quick 15-minute session for those in a hurry.
The Experience: Simple, Relaxing, and Welcoming
Working with soil and plants was easy and relaxing, naturally creating a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Participants selected their plants, arranged miniature landscapes, chatted about everyday life and work, or simply enjoyed moments of quiet focus.
The Outcome: Same Materials, Different Little Worlds
By the end of the workshop, every participant had created a unique living garden to take home.Comparing their creations sparked new conversations. Participants were surprised to see how differently each terrarium turned out, even though everyone had started with similar materials.
Each participant also received a printed care guide and practical tips on how to keep their little living world healthy and thriving.
